Hmm..an unusual way how to pick ur subjects neh? Anyway, the next paragraph will tell u as u read.
Didn't do anything special, cept stared at a couple of my artbooks and read for surprisingly another 4 hours! Yes, I needed to keep my brain functioning so I had my reasons, he he he. (<<;;) Since, I have nothing uninteresting to talk about, I'll write a game review for ur greedy pleasureness. XD
I've been spending the whole day playing the new PS2 game. Fetal Frame, which I rented on Friday. I actually heard of the game after I visited Panuru's blog. At that time her spiffy layout featured an image of the two main character from Fetal Frame(also known as "Project Zero" in Jap). So yah, after that my curiosity grew even further. What is it u ask?? Its a game made by the same producers who brought u Tecmo's Deception on the original PS console. Sadly, never got to play it, but nyeh..The genre is survival-horror, which the product cover speaks for itself already. =P However, I have to say its no Resident Evil, that's for sure. Of course many are familiar with Capcom's survivor horror style, but I can tell they got their inspirations from another classic, "Alone in the Dark." Instead u don't have coorporations, zombie dogs, hordes of flesh eating zombies, and the infamous Nemesis running around causing a havoc. Yet, Fatal Frame's level of creepiness is sure to scare the living pants off of u. Like most survivor horror games, the classic style, and disturbing atmosphere provides variety and genious originality to the traditional survival horror genre. I would provide screenshots, but too lazy. Ugh!!
One of the nicest features is that the game takes place exclussively in Japan, which ur character wanders in a haunted mansion belonging to a powerful, yet insane landowner years ago. Another kewl thing dat changes the perspective of the game is it focuses on a Japanese point of view instead of proceeding with the Western style. Your job is to obviously survive(duh..), solve puzzles, investigating the disappearences of three people on an research thing and discovering the dark terrible secrets the mansion is hiding. Even, more frightening the game is based on a true story, but I'm not about to go into the details right now. The game gets its freaky resources based on Japanese religion(shinto) and mythology, so in this case ur drawn in entering the mind of the maniac who started the madness in the beginning. The introduction comes into place in which ur in control of ur first character, Mafuyu. Reminds me of Makoto from Aucifer. ^^ He he, silly coencidence. However, this introduces to the prolouge of ur twisted adventure, so after what happens to him, the real party has just started. They leave u in control of ur real character, Miku. A cute school gurl in a skirt, whose been blessed with the "sixth sense" that's been in her family generations. Hey, I see u blushing senpai! XD After hearing about the circumstances of her brother(Mafuyu). A strange presence lures Miku towards the creepy mansion, now its ur turn to find ur brother and bring a stop to the evil behind it.
Speaking of survival, ur weapon is no other than a harmless ol' crummy camera. Yet, before u start complementing, this camera holds something very important. Instead of going hog wild on taking snaps, this is the time to see what a cute gurl like u can do w/ ur special powers as I mentioned. The camera allows u to take photos of strange sightings, and clues to help u solve those frustrating puzzles, not to mention battle the angry spectures dat come across ur path. ^^ Oh yah, discard the zombies and carbon based foes for now. He he. I went thorw hell, figuring out the control configs in the menu, but I finally got used to it afterwards. Oh yah, rest assured I'm not trying to spoil the entire thing for u peeps, but I felt like telling a good story. I digress, I'm not a very good story teller, but its somewhat more of a message to get u hook to a good game, like every video game whore likes to do. =P Okay, I admit I never thought Resident Evil and Pokemon Snap would breathe the same air, and come up with an INCREDIBLY impressive game. Aya! X) But I urge u guys try it!!
I like the idea how it uses that dark and unpleasant feel w/o being too excessive, unlike the foggy stuff u see in Silent Hill. Like SL, ur character's light is only a flashlight that barely adds enough luminance. The graphics are also a treat to remember. Every shadows seems perfectly positioned when the source of light changes in a different angle ur character faces.
The second feature, is the sound effects used certainately to disturb the players as they go. The mooning of certain spectures are a delight. Of course, if u prefer the zombie sounds than who's stopping u?? Since, I never got really far, yet I'm bound to have an update after this post. Overall, I'm one of those types that likes to be scared for fun, I truely find this game a delight, fans of survival horror might find the aspect of photography effective as they think. ^__O
Okay, enough of my boring game review, but this is one of the best topics I just like to write about. So how did u peeps find my pointless chattering? ^^ I was actually in good mood at that time. Again, play it!
Oh yah, news from Mangascreener they translated the continuation of Volume 19. for One Piece, so check it out!
No drawings, too excited about Vegas trip. =D
